Today we worked with Mrs. Read to finish our photography project based on the book "Half A Chance" by Cynthia Lord. We used iPads to take photos, then uploaded them to our virtual photo gallery using the Padlet app. Then we sat back and admired our work.
You can see our gallery at: https://padlet.com/sread7/mrdouglas We had a great time, and we learned a lot!
Today we were visited by some animals from the Museum of Science. We also studied a variety of skulls, and talked about what they showed us about the animal's adaptations.
Today we were able to experience a new Google App that is not even on the market yet! We visited the Rainforest and examined a number of different animals to learn about their adaptations. Virtual Reality is awesome!
Today has been a busy day. In the morning we had the school Geo Bee final. Ryan represented our class. Great job Ryan! In the afternoon we got together with Mrs. Flynn's class to play Fraction Bingo. Dale Street School Hat Day - organized by our class and Mrs. Flynn's class. We raised $285.50 for this month's Global Giving (supporting Coalition for Courage). Our class is participating in the Global Read Aloud. Classes all over the world are reading the same book, Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. Mrs. Read, the library assistant, is reading it to us. Today we listened to the author reading a chapter. We have been talking a lot about the main character, Ally, and how she feels about herself and her life at school. |
